Week 3, predictions

Week three is upon us.  There are some great story lines to follow.  A few teams are trying to avoid the awful 0-3 start.  Some other teams are trying to establish themselves as the cream of the crop in MLS early season.  The teams will be trying to deal with missing U23 players.  With all this in mind, this is how i see the games playing out.

Seattle - Houston
This is the marquee match-up of the weekend.  Both teams have started their season's on the right foot.  Seattle found an exciting goal scorer in David Estrada but is dealing with some injury woes.  Houston has won their first two on the road.  I see this being a tough and close game, but i do not think that Houston can start 3-0 on the road.
Seattle 1 - Houston 0

Toronto - San Jose
Toronto's fans are hungry for more success with the recent CCL success still fresh in their minds.  Unfortunately, the absence of Torsten Frings and the potential of Wednesday's CCL game looming, it may be too tall a task for Toronto FC.  San Jose on the road is not a popular pic either.  This has draw written all over it.
Toronto 1 - San Jose 1

Columbus - Montreal
This is a match up with a couple of teams clawing for a first win.  The Crew are still trying to find an identity.  Montreal will hope that the play of newly signed Bernardo Corradi will inspire them to their first MLS win.
Columbus 1 - Montreal 0

New England - Portland
New England is staring down an 0-3 start of the season while the Timbers are starting to build something very exciting.  The Timbers have too many weapons for the Rev to stop.
NE 0 - Por 2

Chicago - Philadelphia
The Union are off to a slow start and are missing three players with the U23 side.  Meanwhile, the Fire are at home and are looking for their first win of the season.  I think that the Union will bunker down and be tough to beat.  Too tough to go 0-3.
Chi 0 - Phi 0

Real Salt Lake - Chivas USA
Real Salt Lake is proving to be a consistent and dominant team in the league.  Chivas has been on the wrong side of two home games.  This one seems easy to call.
RSL 3 - Chivas 0

Vancouver - DC United
United on the road, without the services of Kitchen, Hamid and Najar (all on U23 duty) and the exciting attack oriented Whitecaps hungry for more wins, i feel like the misery for Ben Olsen will continue to mount.
Van 2 - DC United 0

New York - Colorado
The Red Bulls welcome back Rafa Marquez who will be eager to show that he is not washed up.  They will also be playing before their home crowd for the first time this year.  Colorado has played well under rookie coach Oscar Pareja and the will make things very difficult, but i anticipate a Red Bulls win.
NYRB 2 - Colorado 1

Kansas City - Dallas
This game has lost some luster with Bunbury, Shea and a few others on U23 duty.  However, the crowd at LiveStrong park should spur Sporting to victory.
KC 2 - FCD 0
