I had a rough week in my predicting last week, 4-5. However, there were some shock results that i am sure most people got wrong. Who thought that Chivas would beat RSL? Who thought that Toronoto would get crushed by San Jose? Tough week.
Here goes week 4
DC - Dal
DC is coming off an encouraging, if not spectacular road result. They are returning home and will be welcoming back the U23s, Hamid and Kitchen. They are looking for their first win and only have one goal all season. Dallas welcomes back Brek Shea and will be looking for a road win. I think DeRo plays a big role in helping DC get a bit of an offensive groove.
DC 3 - Dal 1
Tor - Columbus
Toronto is back where they do things worst, the MLS. They are still trying to duplicate the form they have shown in CCL. Columbus scored twice in beating the expansion Impact last weekend. The Crew offense should continue to click as Toronto tries to find consistency without Frings.
Tor 0 - C'bus 1
Phi - Van
Seba returns to Philly. You have to imagine he is coming to town with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Nowak is looking to avoid starting 0-4. The whole side will be trying to prove that Nowak did not make a mistake by trading away LeToux.
Phi 2 - Van 2
NYRB - Mont.
NYRB just received the unfortunate news that Luke Rogers was not welcome back on American soil. This will eventually test the depth. However, If FrankenCooper and Titi can play like the did last week, and get similar support, then i think Montreal will continue to wait for their first win.
NYRB 3 - Mont 0
Sea - SJ
The Sounders look to ride Century Link Field to a perfect start to the season? The team already has a nice offensive flow and seem to have nothing but upside. San Jose looks to have two great results in a row, but i don't think their defense can contain the Sounders
Sounders 2 - SJ 1
Por - RSL
The young Timbers are trying to get a little bit of consistency. Their home crowd is an impressive thing to see. However, things will be tough as the face RSL coming off their first loss of the season. While i think that two losses in a row will not happen very often for RSL, this is the weekend i think it happens.
Por 1 - RSL 0
LA - NewE
New England is coming in at an unfortunate time. The Bruce has a well rested team. He has a team that he feels need a result. He has a defense that probably still has a point to prove. And he has some of the best talent in the league. New England has a long trip, an injured Benny Feilhaber, an inexpereinced coach and a lot of question marks.
LA 3 - NE 0
Colo. - Chi
Colorado will want to prove to its home fans that the loss to Red Bulls was not a sign of things to come. Larentowicz will return to the line-up, although they are still without Mastro. Chicago will be interesting to watch, if only to see what they decide with their goalkeeper situation. Their back up looked impressive while Sean Johnson made some mistakes with the U23.
Colo 1 - Chi 0
Chv - KC
Chivas return home high on confidence after beating RSL on the road last week. No Angel will not help matters, although Robin Fraiser seems to have the defense organized. KC will try to not be the second "big team" to suffer a loss to Chivas. Their free flowing offense may be tough for Chivas to handle
Chivas 1 - KC 1
